In the seventh, Elliot Johnson throw away a ball at a play at the plate that allowed two Yankees runs to score to make it 6-4. The Rays would never recover from that and the Yankees won 6-4.
The Rays are now 75-62. They are 2.5 games out in the division and 1.5 game out in the wild card.
