The Rays avoided arbitration with Cy Young winner David Price yesterday, agreeing to one-year deal worth a little over $10 million.
Price, who earned $4.35 million last season, over doubled his 2012 salary as well as exceeded MLBTradeRumors.com's $9.5 million projection for 2013. The new deal also makes him now the club's highest paid player.
Outside of yesterday's news, the last couple of weeks have been slow ones around the MLB. There are still, however, some Rays news and notes worth taking a look at:
- As expected, the Rays are looking to add another reliever or two to the 'pen.
